When: entries below start with a cue. Open now means you can join or book now. Comes round each year means the organiser’s own page says it recurs or shows earlier rounds. Each entry gives the current round’s status. Ran in 2026 means we found no statement that it will return. Just younger and Just older mark programmes for children just outside ages 9 to 12. Where a page leaves something out, the entry says so. It uses phrases such as Age not stated on the organiser’s page, Fee not stated, Fee not yet set, Fee period not stated and Venue as listed on the organiser’s page.

Programmes you can join directly

These are run by public bodies, national sports associations or non-profits, and a family can sign up without going through a school. Fees are quoted as each page states them, with the page’s date where it shows one. ActiveSG is an initiative of Sport Singapore. Its pages give a “standard” and a “subsidised” fee, or a member and a non-member fee; check the page for which applies.

By invitation or trial

Some programmes take children only by invitation or trial, so they aren’t listed above. ActiveSG’s intermediate volleyball programmes are “By Invitation Only” (31 August 2026). Its tennis selective pathway “is strictly by invitation only. Trials are required.” (26 August 2026). Its canoe academy’s next level, Upsized, is “By invitation only” (18 September 2026). Squash For All says talented children “can be identified and selected” for the national training programme (no date shown).

Just younger, just older

The guide covers ages 9 to 12. These are for children just outside that range, with the ages each organiser states.

Not covered here

Programmes run by commercial providers aren’t listed, including holiday camps by private coaches and companies on ActiveSG’s booking site, and community club courses taught by outside trainers. Neither are squads that take children only by invitation or trial, beyond the examples named. School CCAs, the Junior Sports Academy, federation pathways and private lessons are in Sports and Games: The Main Options (Page 1 of 2).

This page doesn’t say whether any activity is offered as a Direct School Admission talent area. Each secondary school sets its own talent areas for each year’s exercise, so check the school’s own DSA page and MOE’s DSA-Sec information.
