School Holidays: The Calendar, and Where to Find What’s On

The rest of the 2026 school calendar for MOE schools, how international schools differ, and where to check for subsidised holiday programmes.

The calendar isn’t the same for every family

MOE primary schools have one scheduled school holiday in October: Children’s Day, Friday 2 October. It’s a single day, not a break.

The run-up to the year-end break isn’t entirely ordinary school days either. Deepavali falls on Sunday 8 November, so Monday 9 November is a public holiday for everyone. Individual schools also set their own closure days during this term — things like admin days or level-specific closures — and these vary school by school, so it’s worth checking your own child’s school calendar rather than assuming only the scheduled holidays matter.

MOE’s year-end break starts Saturday 21 November and runs through Thursday 31 December — one long block, not separate “November” and “December” holidays.

International schools are different, and not uniformly so. Some have a break in late September or October, with dates varying a lot by school — timing isn’t standardised the way MOE’s calendar is. Check your own school’s calendar directly rather than assuming a general “Singapore school holidays” list covers it.

What’s subsidised

ActiveSG credits. As covered in Help With Costs, ActiveSG credits can offset up to 60% of the fees for ActiveSG’s school holiday programmes, compared with up to 30% for most of its other programmes. It’s worth checking your credit balance before the break.

Where to check what’s on

Rather than list specific programmes here — which would likely be out of date by the time you read this — these are the places to check directly:

  • ActiveSG’s programme listings, for holiday-specific sessions your credits can offset
  • NLB’s events calendar (via What’s On, then Explore All Events), filtered to children — it already lists some children’s sessions for the break, mostly clustered in the first week.
  • Your own school’s holiday-care or enrichment communications, if it runs anything directly
