Documenting Growth

Most of what a child does outside lessons leaves no record beyond a certificate, a coach’s message or a parent’s memory. Writing it down, simply and regularly, helps a child see their own progress and gives a family something real to talk about.

This section is about that habit: what is worth recording, how to keep it light enough to last, and how reflection turns a list of activities into an account of growth. A good record can be useful later for many purposes, but it is worth keeping for its own sake first.
